when I grow up

I get to spend each day pouring into the lives of young minds, teaching history, and doing something I love. I wake up knowing that I can make a difference. Teaching is more than my job – it’s my passion.

Such is the life of a teacher: it’s challenging, it’s unpredictable, and it’s worth it.

Become a teacher, and make those positive lifelong connections that we desperately need in today’s society! Students who feel valued and respected will be eager to learn and that helps you reach them when instruction gets tough.

You will never know when your real call to be a teacher will be ignited until you decide to give it a start by starting as a novice teacher. You may one day be a Turning Point to your student and to yourself.

Teaching is not always going to be fun or easy. Some days are HARD and long, but every single day is worth the time and energy. Watching children grow and become young adults is definitely life changing.

My first day of kindergarten, I came home from school and notified my family that “When I grow up, I’m going to be a teacher.” That focus never changed, and twenty-eight years after meeting my favorite teacher, I still think of her every day. She could never know how many decisions of mine she has shaped.
